MENTAL HEALTH

Supporting Young People's Mental Health

I am very grateful for the opportunity to be working as a school mentor with Streetz Ahead, an organization that focuses on providing a variety of mental health provisions to schools and communities in London, such as counseling, therapy, and mentoring.

My role as a school mentor is to...

  •  provide counselling and lessons on mental health-related topics to primary school students, particularly at-risk youth or those with special educational needs and disabilities.

  • coordinate with the school SENDCO (special educational needs and/or disabilities coordinator), safeguarding lead, teachers, and parents regarding referrals, assessments, progress, and outcomes of mentoring.
